new grip end fasten strap
« on: January 08, 2012, 08:07:21 PM »
OK there has been some talk about fastening the coldguards at the grip end so now a strap will be a part of the design, when fastening start to wrap the strap outside of the grip (the side that faces you) wrap it up and over and around again this way will keep the grip inside of the gauntlet edge, the strap is a double sided hook and loop and will attach to itself, for those that already have a set of coldguards there is a attachment kit available, the coldguards function fine without the attach strap but some may find having the strap and able to increase clearance on the top of the grip appealing, the best way to connect the strap is sewing it on, while I would like to install them for everyone the cost of shipping them back and forth would be crazy to do, there are several ways to attach the straps, 1- would be to hand sew it on your self, 2- would be to find someone in your area with a industrial sewing machine to do it, 3- a standard home sewing machine can do it, the attach kit will contain 2-8" double sided hook & loop straps(cable ties) and will cost $2.00

The addition of the grip strap makes the Coldguard's fit nicer.  It allows you to "loosen" the strap on the bar.  This means that the fit does not have to be so snug inward to achieve proper fit.

Finally got a chance to test out this little upgrade over the past weekend.  Although it was 100% on trail ride, no off trail riding, I was very happy with the way they preformed.  The strap gives a little extra room which my wife and I were both pleased with.
